St. Mary’s Church has re-opened for public celebration.
Strict adherence are being observed to the guidelines laid down by the public health authorities and the Catholic Bishops of Ireland,
to ensure that the church will be a safe place for people to attend at Mass.
We continue the search for volunteers to form teams of ushers and sanitizers who are willing to help to keep the church safe for public Masses.
Please volunteer by giving in your name by phone – 052-7443447 or email – [email protected]
The numbers of such volunteers have a direct impact on the amount of Masses we can celebrate in Cahir.
We now have up to 100 attend two separate church pods at any available Mass. There will be no need to book a place for Mass.
You may, however, be asked to give your name and contact telephone number to facilitate contact tracing if needed.
Please arrive approx 15 mins before the service to allow for this.
Reception of Holy Communion on the hand at your designated Holy Communion pod during Mass.
If you wish to receive Holy Communion in your car, please ensure you park in the back car-park.
Special measures will be in place to facilitate social distancing and health and safety. These include:
- No parking in the churchyard. Parking only in the Parish Centre Car Park and in the overflow Car Park behind the Church.
- Entrance by either the back door or the side door nearest the car park. There will be no connection between both.
- Temperature testing before admission to the church - if you are feeling unwell please do not attend.
- Wearing of face mask at Mass is advised but not compulsory.
- Please sanitise your hands before & after Mass.
